Gray Fly also offers fly fishing in Argentine Patagonia. This program includes two amazing destinations: Limay River and the Lakes of Bariloche.
LIMAY RIVER:
It starts on the Andes Mountains, and the 3rd biggest lake in Argentina, Lake Nahuel Huapi. Our favorite part is the first 55 kilometers, which has the typical transition between the Andes forest and the Patagonian steppe. The river is great to float flies and you will visit places which cannot be reached by land. This river offers three distinct periods during the fishing season, which has to be one of the best in Patagonia. In spring, the large migrating rainbow trout come from the lake. In summer time, it is ideal for dry flies and nymphs. Autumn is the best time on this river and you can expect some fantastic fishing. Big shoals of brown trout start entering the river from Nahuel Huapi lake, they are usually over four or five kilograms each. As they are difficult to catch, they are a big challenge for the fishermen. This makes the experience even more exciting and the prizes even better.

ESPEJO LAKE:
It is surrounded by snow-capped Mountains and thick forest; it is one of the most beautiful lakes in Nahuel Huapi Park.
It has a great variety of environments, as well as lots of river and stream outflows providing a large number of wild rainbow trout and brooks. In summer, its bays and extensive reed areas create a perfect environment to try dry flies like Dragonflies and Attractors. In autumn, the lake and its streams become the almost exclusive habitat of colourful brooks.
The lake has an old National Park refuge, where we often stop for a barbeque lunch . We also rest before the afternoon fly fishing. We use motor boats to get to the best fishing sites.
